Local conditions

Why Jensen Beach sliders start to stick

Its main public beach, Jensen Sea Turtle Beach, is on Hutchinson Island at the end of the Jensen Beach Causeway. Mainland homes near the water get a lighter dose of salt than the beachside, plus the full weight of Florida humidity. Rollers still corrode here, only more slowly, and grease in the track goes gummy and collects dirt and pollen.

If there is a sliding screen door beside your slider, it probably gets the roughest treatment. The small wheels crack, the frame bends, and the screen ends up off the track. That is a quick fix, and a new screen can go in on the same visit.

What to plan for in Jensen Beach

  • After the storms

Hurricanes Frances (105 mph) and Jeanne (120 mph) both made landfall on Hutchinson Island, just across the lagoon, in September 2004. Wind-driven rain finds the weak points in a slider: flattened weatherstrip, a gap at the interlock, worn bottom seals, clogged weep holes. Each one is fixable.

FAQ

Jensen Beach questions

Ask us anything about your door by email. We reply within 30 minutes, 7am–9pm, 7 days.

Do you do same-day repairs in Jensen Beach?

Yes, Jensen Beach is in our core area, so same-day or next-day service applies. Email us a photo of the door and we’ll offer the first open time.

Do you work on sliders in manufactured homes?

Yes. Patio sliders, sliding screen doors and window hardware in manufactured homes wear the same way as any other: rollers flatten, wheels crack and doors jump the track. Most of those fixes are quick.

Our Jensen Beach house still has its original slider. Repair or replace?

Usually repair. Most doors that stick, grind or jump the track don’t need replacing. They need rollers, a track repair or an adjustment. If a door can’t be saved, we’ll tell you straight.

Can you give me a price from a photo?

No. A photo helps us bring the right parts, but it can’t show how the rollers turn or how the door sits in the frame. The exact price comes free, on site, before any work starts.
